When Coffee Met Donut WIP

This started off as a piece for a weekly sketch group at work. I think it's pretty heavily inspired by a conversation I had with Jake Murray a few years back about ideas for gallery shows and one of the ones that got thrown around was inanimate objects falling in love.

The file has since been corrupted, so I don't know if I'm ever going to finish this, but I'm liking how it looks so far. Maybe one day I'll be overcome with burning passion and desire and with a tummy full of coffee, I'll charge forward and finish this lil fella up. Until then, you love birds...

This is the valentine I made for my girlfriend. She likes to pretend she doesn't know what Sarlacc's are. It's adorable.

Sleepy Time Tea

I'm really falling behind on posting these weekly designs to this blog...
Anyway, this one's from a few weeks back based on the topic "In the Dark."

Things like this make me realize just how simplified my design process has become:
Step 1: Draw something cute smoking a cigarette.
Step 2: If the cigarette didn't work, replace it with a cup of tea.

The Bat

Fresh from this week's design challenge, the topic this time was "noises batman makes." This might make some people think of "Bam" or "Pow" instead of French. That's understandable.

Medusa

A group of guys at work have started a weekly design challenge. Last week's topic was "Evil Woman." It was really close for me between this and a Toddlers in Tiaras mom. I might have made the wrong choice...

Sometimes I feel a little bad for Medusa. Other times I realize it's probably silly to feel bad for something that never actually existed.
