Out with the old, send in the elephants.

If your job involves political illustrations, at some point, you're going to draw a donkey and an elephant. It's a fact of life. My job involves political illustrations and I thought I would make it past four issues of Great Lakes Life before I went to that old well, but here we are.

You've bested me again, beasts of burden.

This piece is about the house majority shift and is in the December issue of Great Lakes Life magazine. Go out, buy it and rave about it to strangers on the bus. I promise your life will improve greatly. You may even find a ten dollar bill in your jacket pocket.

I'll be sure to check this one out at B & N next time I stop in. Is this acrylic or digital???

About 95% acrylics. The highlights lost their luster in the scan so I had to do a little digital face lift.

And next time I'm anywhere I'll check out one of the hundreds of Jake Murray products sold nationwide.

This is really great Dave. I'm glad to see that it is done traditionally. The look reminds me of how you painted the alice in wonderland piece. I love the atmospheric perspective you got going on.

This is totally trivial (and the whole piece is great, really), but that elephant tie is KILLER.
