Inside the Cave of the Ogre Prince

I never really do any fantasy illustrations. Don't get me wrong, most of my stuff definitely doesn't take place in the real world, but I mean in the dragons and wizards sense of 'fantasy'. Typically my stuff is a bit too cartoony for that subject matter, but I decided to take a crack at combining the two, and here's what I came up with.

And can anyone tell me the differences between an ogre, troll, and goblin? Because I honestly have no idea.

Detail Shot!

I hear you. High fantasy has never really been my thing either. I think we could accurately say that work like ours is more "fantastical" than "fantasy".

Nice detail shot. How big is the original anyway?

I think that's a really good way to put it, Erik. I think your style could lend itself to either of those, though.

The original of this isn't all that big. I think it's only around 10x12 or so.

Thats kind of you to say. Especially when I'm still trying to hone a style of my own. Its easy to identify others look but remain oblivious to your own.

I always enjoy looking at your work with its dense wackiness but still having the clean charm of something like The Muppets.
